The second £324 instalment of the cost of living payment is set to hit bank accounts in the coming weeks.
The first instalment of £326 has already been paid to over 7.2 million eligible households, although the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has stated that it may take longer for more complex cases.
A total of £650 will be issued to people across Scotland and the UK who claim certain qualifying means-tested benefits from the DWP or tax credits from HMRC. The money was announced by the UK Government to help people through the cost of living crisis.

When you receive the second instalment of the cost of living payment will depend on what benefit or tax credits you receive. Approximately £2.4 billion has already been administered to low-income households across Scotland and the UK.
The £324 payment is set to hit bank accounts this autumn. Those who claim tax credits will receive the money later in order to avoid duplicate payments.
As reported by Nottinghamshire Live, Chancellor of the Exchequer Nadhim Zahawi said: "It’s great that millions of the families who are most in need are starting to receive their Cost of Living Payments, which I know will be a massive help for people who are struggling.
"Alongside tax cuts, changes to Universal Credit and the Household Support Fund, these payments are a vital part of our £37 billion support package to help people deal with rising prices."
Households who qualify for the money include those claiming the following benefits:
- Universal Credit
- Income-based Jobseekers Allowance
- Income-related Employment and Support Allowance
- Income Support
- Working Tax Credit
- Child Tax Credit
- Pension Credit.
The money is transferred automatically, and so you do not need to apply for it.
