When Roy Keane is likely to give his views on Cristiano Ronaldo's sensational interview

Football fans might have to wait until Portugal take on Ghana to hear Roy Keane's view on Cristiano Ronaldo's headline-grabbing interview.

Ronaldo has claimed that Manchester United are trying to force him out of the club, while also saying that he has no respect for manager Erik Ten Hag.

"Some people don't want me here not only this year but last year too," said the legendary striker in an interview with Piers Morgan.

While on Ten Hag, Ronaldo said: ""I don't have respect for him because he doesn't have respect for me."

The sensational comments have dominated the sporting headlines, with many keen to weigh on Ronaldo's actions.

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher believes that the 37-year-old is trying to get sacked by the club.

Carragher said: "He wants to be sacked, that's obvious. He told the club in the summer that he wanted to leave, which is football - these things happen.

"There were no takers, maybe because of his wages or the price Manchester United wanted.

"I think he knows that's going to be the same in this next transfer window and maybe the following summer and he is now trying to be sacked or wants to leave on a free. That's the only way he's going to get out."

Carragher has also said that he believes that 99% of Manchester United fans will disagree with Cristiano Ronaldo's recent actions, with Roy Keane being part of the 1% that may try and defend the United icon.

Keane has persistently defended his old teammate during the Portuguese man's return to Manchester.

In early October, Keane claimed United were 'disrespecting' Ronaldo by leaving him on the bench throughout a 6-3 defeat to Manchester City.

Keane said: "I think Man United are showing disrespect to Ronaldo. I think he should have been let go before the [closing] of the window.

"Okay, you're the manager, you need options but you don't hold onto Ronaldo to sit on the bench. He's one of the greatest players ever.

"He's played him in one or two European games. It's just going to get uglier as the season goes on.

"If he's sitting on the bench for United, week in, week out it's just going to get uglier. I think United have shown nothing but disrespect to Ronaldo.

"They should have let him go when the opportunity came. He did have options, I know that for a fact.

"But to hold onto Ronaldo to sit on the bench, I think is ridiculous for a player of his stature."

Football fans are now itching to hear Keane's views on Ronaldo's television outburst, which mirrors, in many ways, the Corkman's famous interview on MUTV in 2005.

Keane, who was out injured at the time, ripped into his teammates after they lost 4-1 to Middlesbrough at the Riverside.

He said, for instance, of Rio Ferdinand: "Just because you are paid £120,000-a-week and play well for 20 minutes against Tottenham, you think you are a superstar."

Keane never played again for Manchester United after the interview, although, similar to Ronaldo, Keane has subsequently claimed that the club were already trying to push him out of the club previous to the interview.

But fans wanting to find out if Keane will continue to take the side of Ronaldo may have to wait until November 24 when Portugal take on Ghana.

Keane will be working as a pundit for ITV throughout the tournament, so organisers will surely have him on for Portugal and Ronaldo's World Cup opener.
