When Rangers Europa League group games will be confirmed

Rangers today discovered their opponents for this season's Europa League.

Michael Beale's side will take on Real Betis, Sparta Prague, and Aris Limassol in the group stage of the 2023/24 competition.

The Ibrox side were drawn from Pot 1 in Monaco on Friday lunchtime, and have been handed a tough group, but it certainly could have been much worse.

As per usual, group stage matches will take place on Thursday nights from September to December.

And Rangers are set to learn their exact Europa League matchday fixtures by this weekend.

UEFA states that the fixture list will likely be published in full today.

However, European football's governing body says they would be released on Saturday at the latest.

The dates for the schedule for the fixtures have already been revealed. However, kick-off times as well as home and away ties have yet to be determined.

The schedule is as follows:

Matchday 1: September 21 2023

Matchday 2: October 5 2023

Matchday 3: October 26 2023

Matchday 4: November 9 2023

Matchday 5: November 30 2023

Matchday 6: December 14 2023

Meanwhile, Cyriel Dessers cut a dejected, solemn figure as he watched the final minutes of Rangers' thumping 5-1 defeat to PSV from the bench after being substituted.

The Nigerian came to Scotland to test his mettle against the finest teams Europe has to offer, so dropping from the Champions League into the Europa was a bitter pill to swallow.

And yet, Dessers, a 28-year-old who came from Serie A, is experienced enough to know there's only one thing a professional athlete can do in adversity - dust yourself down and go again.

Against Celtic on Sunday, he's well aware there is no bigger or better game for the striker and his teammates to wash away their pain and show the fans they've been hurting.

And Dessers promises, nothing will be left in the changing room as he vowed to "die on the pitch" in his quest for redemption.

He said: “I think we disappointed ourselves, the staff who worked really hard and the fans who travelled to Eindhoven and who were supporting us at home. The whole club. We want to make something good out of it and try to win on Sunday and make everybody happy."
