Arsenal could be handed a huge boost in their title hopes if they land a deal for Mykhaylo Mudryk this January transfer window. The 21-year-old has been a target for the Gunners since last summer, where they failed to secure the signature of the Ukraine international before the deadline.
He stayed with Shakhtar Donetsk, where he has impressed ever since, showing his class and ability on the Champions League stage. Convinced he would be the right fit, football.london understands Arsenal made an opening bid worth £55million last week that was eventually turned down.
A second reported bid of £62million has been lodged by the side, who are looking to continue their push at the top of the Premier League table. The west London outfit currently lead the rest of the pack in the division, seven points clear of nearest rivals Manchester City in the race for the title.

Arsenal failed to capitalise on the January window last season, eventually slipping out of the top four race, though this time they may rectify that mistake. The bid for Mudryk suggests as much, while interest in the likes of Joao Felix and Danilo are still reports circulating.
The signing of the former appears the priority and the closest to happening for the Gunners, coming as a potential boost as the Evening Standard report the side are trying to get the deal done in the next 11 days. If they manage that, the winger will be available to face Tottenham away in the North London Derby, in what would be spicy debut clash, as well as Manchester United after that.
If the squad are able to navigate that run of games - as well as Manchester City afterwards - with positive results, they could be in the best shape possible for the title charge ahead.
