Dundee United expect to announce Jack Ross as their new manager on a two-year deal on Monday.
The Tannadice club were close to completing negotiations tonight with the former Hibs and Sunderland gaffer to replace Tam Courts.
United chairman Mark Ogren and sporting director Tony Ashgar hope to unveil Ross on Monday after Courts left for Hungarian outfit Honved last week.
The 46-year-old has been out of work since leaving Hibs in December and was United’s first choice.
He was on the agenda for city rivals Dundee but couldn't be persuaded to drop into the Championship.
And United want to have their man in place early next week as they get set for a crack at the Europa Conference League.
Ross won’t bring long-term number two John Potter with him to Tannadice after he was recently appointed manager of Kelty Hearts .
Record Sport understands the current coaching staff at United, assistant boss Liam Fox and goalie coach Craig Hinchcliffe, will remain at the club to work alongside the new gaffer.
