When it will snow in Glasgow as city set for lows of -7C says Met Office

Temperatures are starting to fall below zero with the Met Office predicting some fairly low numbers.

According to the weather experts, this week will see highs of 3C whilst the lowest we could see is -7C.

Talking about the week ahead, they say that Glasgow could see "scattered snow showers" meaning it's only set to get colder.

They say that much of today (December 12) will see "cold but dry and sunny" conditions with "light and variable winds".

The odd shower may appear, mainly across the Western coasts and Isles, with lows of -4C and highs of -1C.

Later tonight, they add that we could see temperatures drop even further to -7C with "widespread deep frost for many." In addition, there is an "increasing chance of some wintry showers developing across Argyll come dawn."

Discussing tomorrow's forecast they say that the central belt could see some "freezing fog patches" as well as "some snow showers for Argyll."

Looking ahead to the rest of the week, the Met Office adds that Wednesday and Thursday is set to be dry and bright whilst scattered snow showers could affect Argyll. They say that winds turning southwest Friday could bring the risk of patchy snow and rain later.

Are there any weather warnings for Glasgow?

No. At the time of writing there are no weather warnings. There are some however in place for parts of north-eastern Scotland for ice and snow.
