Team GB have both Louie Hinchliffe and Zharnel Hughes in the semi-finals. Hincliffe, 22, beat USA world champion Noah Lyles in their heat to lay down a marker ahead of today's semi-finals.
The one to beat is likely to be Jamaica's Kishane Thompson, who is the fastest man in the world this year with a time of 9.77seconds. He won his heat in 10 seconds flat. Fellow Jamaican Oblique Seville and Kenya's Ferdinand Omanyala look to also have serious designs on the gold.
