When is the Strictly final? BBC confirm show won't be moved for World Cup

With all the scheduling changes of the last few weeks, Strictly Come Dancing fans would be forgiven for losing track of where they are. But the good news is that this year’s final will be unaffected by the World Cup.

Both last week’s quarter final and this weekend’s semi were shunted from their usual Saturday night slot for the tournament, with the latest live show moved by the BBC to Sunday, despite the fact that they weren’t even showing England v France, with ITV doing the honours.

In a massive turn up for the books, the moving of the semi final to a Sunday means that the next Strictly results show will air on a Monday night for the first time ever, with fans struggling to process having to watch them on a week night.

At the time of writing, they were five couples left in the running for this year’s Glitterball trophy, but in just a few days time that number will be cut to four ahead of the series finale.

When is the Strictly final?

This year’s Strictly Come Dancing final will be on Saturday, December 17 at 7.05pm. It will run for two and a half hours and be preceded by a Weakest Link Strictly special.

And unlike every other week this year, the results won’t be pre recorded, they will air as part of the extended live broadcast, so there will be no need for any Strictly spoiler.

The bookies’ favourite to win for weeks now has been Hamza Yassin, although Helen Skelton has seen her odds massively slashed as the show has gone on.
