Sainsbury's is launching its 'Double Up' promotion for Nectar card holders very soon, it has been claimed.
While the supermarket giant has not yet made an official announcement, an insider tip was recently posted online, reports Birmingham Live.
A post on hotdealsuk last week read: "Hey all, huge bit of insider info from one of our hotukdeals members [...] From 30th October 2019 until 19th November Sainsbury's will be running a 'Double Up' promo."
Nectar is the Sainsbury's loyalty scheme used to reward customers.
Shoppers can also pick up Nectar points with other retailers - including Argos, Asos and eBay - and when shopping at certain retailers via the Nectar website.
Each Nectar point is worth 0.5p - meaning 1,000 points usually equates to £5, while 4,000 is worth £20.
You cannot pick up points for the following items: stamps, car park tickets, cash back, gift vouchers, lottery tickets, scratch cards, medicines or baby milk.
Double-Up is an annual event where Nectar Points are worth twice as much when you spend them in-store.
Customers exchange their points for a voucher which can be used on a variety of products.
According to The Mirror, it has been speculated that, for the first time, the Double Up event will be digital, meaning points will only be issued online at nectar.com or through the Nectar app.
