When is the Qatar 2022 World Cup and where do the England and Wales men's teams stand in the world ranking?

The Fifa World Cup is taking place this year in Qatar and fans will soon be able to enjoy world-class football on an international stage. But the 2022 tournament will be held later in the year than normal. The Qatar 2022 World Cup will kick off on November 21 and will run until December 18. The World Cup is usually held in the summer months but due to the extremely hot weather Qatar experiences the date was moved, to some controversy from fans.

In the last World Cup, which was held in Russia, England managed one of their best ever results and made it to the semi-finals. They exited the competition after they were knocked out by Croatia. Wales, however, did not advance into the finals of the competition after failing to make it through the qualification round. Wales had been placed into a tough qualification group and ultimately lost out, with Serbia ultimately making it through to the World Cup. Ireland was also in the same group and finished second allowing them to advance to the second round of the competition.

The countdown below shows exactly how long is left until the Fifa World Cup Qatar 2022 officially begins.

At the time of writing, there are 15 teams that have already made it through to the final stage of the World Cup. When the tournament kicks off in November 32 teams will be fighting it out.
