F1 2024: What does Max Verstappen need to win driver's championship at Las Vegas Grand Prix?

Max Verstappen is on the verge of sealing a fourth consecutive Formula One world title, with Lando Norris needing huge favours if he is to upset the odds in the final three races.

The title race had been set for a nail-biting conclusion, with the McLaren finding impressive pace in recent months and Norris gradually cutting into the deficit Verstappen had built in the early months of the season.

However, Verstappen produced a sensational drive in Brazil in the most recent race, starting 17th on the grid but coming through in wet conditions to take victory. Norris could only finish sixth.

That extended Verstappen’s lead over Norris to 62 points with just three races remaining.

How soon could Max Verstappen win the title?

Verstappen has the chance to win a fourth world title this weekend in Las Vegas.

Should he beat Norris in Sunday’s race, or not lose more than two points to the McLaren driver, Verstappen will once again be world champion.

Norris must gain at least three points on the Dutchman to extend the title race into the final two races of the season.
