When is the FA Cup final? Man Utd vs Man City date and kick-off time for Wembley spectacle

The 2023 FA Cup final will take place at Wembley on Saturday, June 3.

Erik ten Hag's Manchester United defeated Roberto De Zerbi's Brighton on penalties after a tense goalless draw on Sunday. They will take on Premier League title-chasing Manchester City, who eased to a 3-0 victory against Championship side Sheffield United on Saturday thanks to a Riyad Mahrez hat-trick.

This year's FA Cup final will be a historic affair, as Manchester's two biggest clubs have never faced each other in the final before. Their last Wembley showdown was in August 2011, when Sir Alex Ferguson's United defeated City 3-2 to claim the Community Shield.

How did the teams reach the FA Cup final?

City's path to Wembley was difficult. They hammered Chelsea, who beat them in the Champions League final just two years ago, 4-0 at the Etihad to earn a fourth-round home tie against Premier League leaders Arsenal. City won that game 1-0.

Pep Guardiola's side then faced Bristol City in the fifth round at Ashton Gate, where they won 3-0. City's quarter-final opponents were Burnley, recording an emphatic 6-0 win at the Etihad. They finished the job by hammering the Blades at Wembley on Saturday.

United, meanwhile, defeated Everton, Reading, West Ham and Fulham all at home before overcoming Brighton at Wembley on Sunday. United's first four games in the tournament all ended 3-1.
