When is the Champions League last-16 draw and who can Man City play?

The UEFA Champions League group stage has drawn to a close this week, and it has been and gone in record time.

The winter scheduling of the World Cup meant the group stage was condensed into a two-month period, but that mattered little to Manchester City who qualified for the last-16 for the tenth consecutive season.

City secured top sport in Group G last week with a goalless draw away at Borussia Dortmund, and on Wednesday they beat Sevilla 3-1 to give them a final points total of 14 from a possible 18.

Now attentions turn to the last-16 of the competition. Here's all you need to know about what happens from here.

When is the last-16 draw?

The draw for the last-16 ties will take place on Monday, November 7 at 11am in Nyon, Switzerland. The draw will be streamed live on UEFA's website and we'll cover it live here on the MEN website..

How will the draw work?

The draw for the last-16 will feature the winner and runners-up from each of the eight Champions League groups. The teams will be divided into two pots for the draw: a pot of group winners (seeded) and a pot of runners-up (unseeded).

Each tie will see an unseeded team host a seeded side in the first leg, before the seeded side hosts the second leg. No team can play another side from their own country or from their group stage group.

The first legs are scheduled for February 14, 15, 21 and 22, with the second legs on March 7, 8, 14 and 15.. All games will start at 8pm.

Who can City play?

City won their group so will be seeded in the draw, meaning they will be drawn against an unseeded team that finished second in their group. They cannot face another side from England so they will not be drawn against Liverpool and neither can they play Borussia Dortmund, who finished second in their group.

The six confirmed teams that City could draw are:

  • Club Bruges
  • Inter Milan
  • Eintracht Frankfurt
  • AC Milan
  • RB Leipzig
  • Paris Saint-Germain
