Strictly Come Dancing has long been a Saturday night staple in the lead up to Christmas, so those tuning into BBC One on December 2 might be shocked to see the competition on the Friday schedule. The live show and results have been brought forward by a day as the broadcaster makes way for World Cup coverage.
The live show has been moved to Friday, December 2 and the results to Saturday, December 3 as the Strictly quarter-finals clash with the Qatar World Cup knockout stages, which also start on Saturday, December 3. The BBC has rearranged the schedules so it can air the football matches.
So while Strictly fans will get their weekend fix, it's important to note they won't be as usual. Presenter Tess Daly announced the news on last week's show, telling viewers: "We will be back at 8pm next Friday. Yes, you heard right, Friday."
