When is 'Smile 2' coming to streaming?

Naomi Scott as Skye Riley in "Smile 2".

Paramount’s highly anticipated horror sequel “Smile 2” is an absolute blast. The movie hit theaters on Friday, October 18, 2024, and was quick to make waves among horror fans and critics alike.

Critics and viewers have praised its surprisingly shocking scares as well as Naomi Scott’s mesmerizing performance. The Rotten Tomatoes score is currently standing at a solid 86% from critics and 81% from audiences. In just over a month, it's pulled in over $130 million worldwide, making it one of the highest-grossing horror releases of the season.

“Smile 2” follows pop star Skye Riley (Scott), who finds herself haunted by the “Smiling Demon” after a traumatic event in which a friend dies in front of her. Skye's descent into paranoia and fear mirrors the psychological horror of the original “Smile”, as those around her dismiss her experiences.

If you missed it in theaters, or you want to revisit this particular flick, we've not got a confirmed “Smile 2” streaming date; here's what you need to know.

When will ‘Smile 2’ be available to stream?

“Smile 2” landed on premium video-on-demand (PVOD) streaming services on November 19; you can buy or rent this movie on services like Amazon and Apple TV (which was exactly the date we predicted).

While we managed to guess the PVOD date for "Smile 2", the horror flick came to Paramount Plus earlier than we expected, on December 3, meaning you can now stream "Smile 2" at home.

Paramount typically adds its latest releases to Paramount Plus around 45-60 days after their theatrical run (depending on the movie's box office success). For example, “A Quiet Place: Day One” arrived on Paramount Plus 60 days after its release. “Transformers One” landed on the streamer on November 15 (which is just a tad earlier than 60 days).

Following that logic, we expected "Smile 2" to land on or around December 17. Clearly, the streamer was keen to drop another fright-fest for those not quite ready to get into the festive spirit!
