When is Reacher Season 3 on and how can I watch?

It’s almost time for Ian Childs’ brutal hero Jack Reacher to take to screens once more.

The show has been a colossal hit for Prime, drawing in millions of viewers for its first two seasons for its depiction of the itinerary ex-army police officer, who travels around America putting the world to rights. Naturally, it comes along with a whole lot of fighting, bone crunching and explosions too.

Clearly, Prime knows it’s onto a good thing. With both a spinoff and season four in the works, we’re about to see an awful lot more of Reacher – and with season three about to air, here’s what to know about where to watch it.

When’s it on?

(Jasper Savage/Prime)

The show drops on Prime Video on February 20 and will be released weekly, every Thursday, until the finale on March 27.

What’s the plot?

Season three of Reacher is based on the seventh book in Lee Child’s series, called Persuader. We don’t know a lot about how it’s been adapted for the small screen, but the official show synopsis is as follows: "Reacher will go undercover to rescue an informant held by a haunting foe from his past."

One major difference from the book, though, is that Maria Sten will be returning as Frances Neagley, Reacher’s old army buddy and confidante. How she’ll factor into the plot is anybody’s guess, but it’ll keep things interesting.

Who’s in the cast?

(Jasper Savage/Prime)

First thing’s first: Alan Ritchson will be returning as the titular 6-foot-plus hero. He’s being joined this time around by Maria Sten as Frances Neagley, an old friend of his from the Army (and who is reportedly getting her own spinoff show); Anthony Michael Hall as crooked businessman (and villain Zachary Beck) and Johnny Berchtold as Richard Beck, his son.

Other cast members are Sonya Cassidy as DEA agent Susan Duffy, and Roberto Montesinos as Guillermo Villaneuva, another DEA agent who crosses paths with Reacher.

But there aren’t many old faces: as showrunner Nick Santora explained, "the DNA of Reacher is that he moves about on his own and teams up with good people when there’s bad lurking about, and then he says goodbye to those people and goes on his way."

Is there a trailer?

There sure is, and it promises plenty of explosions – and, more intriguingly, the gigantic Reacher facing off against somebody that’s actually bigger than he is. We’ve popped it at the top of the page.
