What time is the US Open men's final today? How to watch Jannik Sinner vs Taylor Fritz live in the UK

The US Open men’s final takes place this evening, with Jannik Sinner going up against Taylor Fritz in New York.

The Italian currently sits at the top of the world rankings after a superb season, which began with a first Grand Slam title at the Australian Open, and he is now one win away from joining Carlos Alcaraz in winning two of tennis’ biggest prizes in 2024.

Sinner had controversy to deal with in the build-up to this tournament, after it emerged that he had twice tested positive for a banned substance in March, but he was cleared of any wrongdoing.

Having lifted the trophy in Cincinnati, Sinner has continued that form in New York, reaching the final after battling past plucky British No1 Jack Draper in a bruising semi-final encounter.

The top seed now faces American opposition in the showpiece match, with Fritz having outlasted compatriot Frances Tiafoe in a five-set thriller in the second semi-final on Friday night.

World No12 Fritz is bidding for an upset to claim his maiden Grand Slam title, having also reached the quarter-finals of both Wimbledon and the Australian Open and the fourth round at Roland Garros.

US Open final start time

The men’s final at the US Open is scheduled to begin at 7pm BST, which is 2pm in New York.

US Open final prize money

As well as lifting the trophy on Arthur Ashe on Sunday night, the winner of the final will also take home a cool $3.6million.

That is double the prize money for whoever finishes as runner-up, with $1.8m on offer.

Jannik Sinner vs Taylor Fritz head-to-head record

The duo are currently tied on head-to-head record at one win apiece, Sinner winning in three sets in the quarter-finals at Indian Wells last year after Fritz had beaten him in the last 16 of the same competition two years earlier.
