Jack Draper’s bid to reach the quarter-finals of a Grand Slam for the first time sees him take on Tomas Machac at the US Open today.
The British No1 has made it to the last-16 at Flushing Meadows for the second year in a row and is the favourite to beat the unseeded Czech in an increasingly open men’s singles field.
Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz are out while No1 seed Jannik Sinner faces home favourite Tommy Paul later on bidding to reach only his second US Open quarter-final.
Draper, the No25 seed for the tournament, is yet to drop a set in New York and hasn’t even been forced into a tiebreaker.
Victory this evening would mean a tie against one of the Australian duo Alex de Minaur or Jordan Thompson, who play after Draper today.
Draper is due in the second match at the Louis Armstrong Stadium.
First up the Italian Jasmine Paolini faces Karolina Muchova, which is slated to begin at 4pm BST. That means Draper and Machac should start their game at any time from 5.30pm BST, depending on how long the first game lasts.
In the UK, the exclusive rights to the live TV coverage are held by Sky Sports and Draper vs Machac will be broadcast on Sky Sports Tennis and Main Event, plus via the Sky Go and Sky Sports app.
