"Gladiator II" was a massive hit, raking in over $455 million at the global box office during its theatrical run. That makes the highly anticipated sequel to 2000's Best Picture winner "Gladiator" not only one of the biggest movies of 2024 but one of Paramount's highest-grossing movies of all time. But if you missed it in theaters — or want to watch it again — you're probably wondering when it will be available on streaming services.

Where to stream 'Gladiator II'?
Right now, you can buy or rent "Gladiator II" premium video-on-demand (PVOD) services like Amazon or Apple TV.
But if you prefer to watch on streaming video-on-demand (SVOD) services, you'll soon be able to do that too. Paramount has revealed that you can stream "Gladiator II" starting January 21 on Paramount Plus. What is 'Gladiator II' about?
"Gladiator II" takes place 16 years after the events of the 2000 movie starring Russell Crowe. In this epic historical fiction movie, Rome is now ruled by twin emperors Geta (Joseph Quinn) and Caracalla (Fred Hechinger) and has become a hotbed for corruption.
Across the Mediterranean Sea, Rome's former prince Lucius Verus Aurelius (Paul Mescal) has decided to eschew leadership and instead start a family. Of course, that's partially because nobody knows that he's Lucius. Living in exile since the events of "Gladiator" the (now adult) prince has been living as Hanno, a warrior for the North African kingdom of Numidia.
Rome's reach is too far for Hanno/Lucius to avoid though. One day, the Roman army led by General Acacius (Pedro Pascal) sacks Numidia and kills Hanno's wife Arishat, capturing Hanno and several other Numidians. These captives are sent to a fighting pit to see if they're fit to be gladiators, and while fighting for his life, Hanno catches the eye of Macrinus (Denzel Washington), who buys him to turn the secret prince into a gladiator.
But Hanno does want glory in the arena — he wants revenge. So Macrinus makes him a deal. Fight for Macrinus in the arena and Macrinus will get Hanno his shot at revenge against the man who took his wife from him.
