When is Fortnite's next update? Outlaw Midas and new Lego Pass coming to game

Fortnite is getting a meaty update packed with new skins and features for Battle Royale and Lego Fortnite.

Epic has already revealed what’s in store for the latter, including a football mini-game for the Lego Brick Life mode. Meanwhile, a host of Fortnite leakers have divulged some of the other exciting content on the cards.

Here’s everything we know about Fortnite’s next update (titled v34.10), including its release date and new features.

When is Fortnite’s next update coming out?

Fortnite developer Epic Games will launch the game’s next update on Tuesday, March 11. The release date was revealed in a Lego Fortnite blog post.

As usual, players can expect the game’s servers to go offline at 9am in the UK, rendering most of its modes unplayable.

The Outlaw Midas outfit is reportedly heading to the game as part of the current Battle Pass (Epic Games)

If all goes according to plan, Fortnite should come back online at noon, with the update available to download.

Fortnite’s next update: what to expect

According to leaks, the update should bring the items and cosmetics that Epic teased at the start of Fortnite Chapter 6, Season 2 last month.

Battle royale

Chief among them will be the Outlaw Midas outfit, which will be unlockable from Battle Pass quests.

Weapons in the pipeline include the Outlaw Shotgun, the Pump and Dump dual-wield SMG and shotty combo, and the powerful Rocket Drill for blasting through obstacles.

Seeing as Mortal Kombat’s Sub-Zero is in the current Battle Pass, some are predicting that his buddy Scorpion’s “hookshot” will be the next Mythic, allowing you to hook and reel in enemies and props (much like the Hades Chain before it).

Lego Fortnite

However, the only official info we have so far is about Lego Fortnite. According to Epic, the mode is getting a new “Goldrush Gallery” Lego Pass, which runs from March 11 to May 2.

Although it contains some freebies, you’ll need to purchase the pass for 1,400 V-Bucks to unlock the full range of rewards.

Everything in the new Goldrush Gallery Lego Pass, which costs 1,400 V-Bucks (Epic Games)

These include the following skins and items:

  • Rebel Oro Outfit – A golden skeleton warrior, automatically unlocked with the premium pass
  • Carmine Rosso Outfit – A second premium outfit
  • Oro’s Abode Decor Bundle – A gold-themed home decoration set
  • Welding Essentials Decor Bundle – A decor set for players who love metalworking
  • Golden Peel Gallery Decor Bundle – A gaudy, museum-style decor pack

As for that footy mini-game, it will take place at a football pitch across from the Bobom Milk Tea store. Instead of 90 minutes, matches will be reduced to a breezy 90 seconds, with the winning player nabbing 1,000 creds and a trophy for their home.

You can read about all the other changes, including new features heading to Lego Odyssey on March 25, in the blog post.
