When is Coronation Street on over Christmas? Full festive episode guide for ITV soap

Coronation Street are set for some whirlwind scenes this Christmas and New Year.

The ITV soap has seen some huge arrivals - and departures - this year and a big storyline surrounding Kelly Neelan fleeing the Cobbles as her, Gary Windass and Aadi Alahan were caught in a shooting horror. However, executive producer Iain MacLeod has promised some moving and emotional scenes this winter.

He did confess he cried twice as he watched previews for the episode, and the storylines around Christmas. Iain said he hopes fans love it as much as he believes they will, as he promised heartwarming moments ahead - with Fiz and Tyrone set to take centre-stage.

What's happening on Corrie at Christmas?

There's the hope of a festive wedding for Fiz and Tyrone this Christmas - but will it all go to plan?

"There's loads of comedy, lots of family fun in it and lots of warmth. I sort of cried twice in the viewing of it and I'm not given to tears," Iain said, "It's really moving and lovely, but not moving in a sad way but moving in a kind of warms your cockles way.

"So I really think the fans are gonna love it, and the Fiz and Tyrone strand is probably the centre piece of it. It's really good fun and the right amount of silly. Alan Halsall and Jennie McAlpine are absolutely marvellous in it, and the kids are great so it just feels totally Christmas and totally Corrie, so it's a warm end of the year for us really."
