Former One Direction band member Harry Styles is set to return to Glasgow on Saturday at Ibrox Stadium in an event that’s set to bring the city to a halt - and we can only hope it lives up to his last performance here in 2018.
Traffic Scotland has warned that this weekends concert will mean Glasgow’s roads will see heavy traffic, with commuters heading to the stadium in the South West of the city.
The last time Harry visited the Dear Green Place four years ago, however, he made a very different impact.
Playing a sold out gig at the OVO Hydro as part of his Happy Days world tour, Styles surprised attendees with an appropriate outfit for the setting.

When he emerged on stage in full Scottish regalia, along with his band and back up dancers, wearing a kilt, jacket, socks and sporran. Performing the hits from his debut solo album, Styles ripped a banana from his sporran and ate it on stage - adding: “It’s great for snacks, I can fit loads of stuff in here.”
He later pulled out an orange and threw it into the crowd, with the masses who had gathered at the Glasgow Hydro going wild.
Fans of the then-24-year-old took to social media to express their excitement, with one fan posting to Twitter: “I watched @Harry_Styles eat a banana while wearing a skirt with his nails painted from the front row, I don’t deserve this. I am so grateful what even is air anymore.”
Another commented: “Harry Styles wearing a kilt is the reason I’m alive.”
While the singer is set to return to Glasgow this weekend, Harry was all set to be here back in April 2020. The Love on Tour tour was cancelled at the time, due to concerns about Covid-19.
While the tour was rescheduled, many cities across the UK were given another date to enjoy Harry. Glasgow was left with just one date at Ibrox, while two extra shows were announced for Manchester at the Emirates Old Trafford and London at Wembley Arena.

Fans once again headed to social media, with one user writing: “Please add another date at Ibrox, Glasgow - 2 presale’s, today general sale and still no tickets?”
That being said, no one was quite as disappointed as the Glasgow schoolgirl who phoned into Capital Scotland last week.
Anna Carty phoned into the radio station and asked the team to help her out with grabbing a date for her prom, which is set for June 9. With Harry coming to the city shortly after, she was hopeful that his answer would be yes.
The host played a recorded message for Anna, which appeared to be the 28-year-old superstar accepting the invitation. However, it later emerged that the voice belonged to Capital DJ Roman Kemp.
Anna said: “It was just a bit of fun and I’m looking forward to my prom. I knew when I heard the voice on the phone that it wasn’t Harry Styles.”
At the very least, we hope she at least got some tickets for the gig at Ibrox this weekend.
