When does the Wimbledon 2025 public ballot open and how can I get tickets?

The ballot for Wimbledon 2025 is now open, giving fans the chance to get tickets for next year’s tournament at the All England Club.

There are several ways of getting inside the hallowed gates - but for those unaffiliated with a tennis club, it represents a great chance to be on a show court.

This year, 21-year-old Carlos Alcaraz defended his men’s singles title by beating Novak Djokovic in straight sets in the men’s and Barbora Krejčiková won her first women’s singles crown.

Fans of the iconic event are now hoping to secure tickets for the 138th championships next July.

While the price of Central Court debentures — the All England Club’s most coveted seats — rose to £116,000 this year, more affordable tickets ranged from £50 to £275.

As any tennis enthusiast will know, the most common way to buy tickets is through the Wimbledon public ballot. The practice has been around since 1924 to ensure that people have a fair chance to attend the 14-day championships.

The Wimbledon ballot randomly allocates seats for Centre Court and Court 1, 2 and 3 matches. While it might be one of the most popular ways into Wimbledon, it’s still fiercely competitive, however.

Being open to both Britons and international applicants, a record number of people signed up in 2023 to get entry for this year’s tournament.

Here’s how you can be in with a chance of securing the coveted tickets for 2025.

When does the Wimbledon 2025 public ballot open?

The All England Lawn Tennis Club has that the Wimbledon Public Ballot will be open from Monday, September 2 for 150 days, closing at 11.59pm on Monday, September 16.

All applicants must register for a free myWimbledon account in order to enter the ballot.

The Wimbledon website says: “The ballot is intended to be the fairest way of obtaining tickets to the championships, but please be aware that entry into the Wimbledon Public Ballot does not automatically entitle applicants to tickets, but to a place in the draw.

“It is not possible to request tickets for specific days or courts, as the day and court offered are chosen randomly by a computerised selection process.”

How do I sign up for the Wimbledon 2025 public ballot?

Applicants must register a free myWimbledon account before entering the Public Ballot Waiting Room, where they can wait their turn to sign up for tickets.

Once you’ve entered the draw, you’ll have to wait to find out if you’ve been lucky enough to win.

When are the results of the Wimbledon 2025 public ballot?

Those fortunate enough to purchase tickets for this year’s tournament were notified in November 2023. As such, it is predicted that the ballot results will be around a similar time this year.

How many tickets am I allowed to buy?

According to the Wimbledon website, each ballot application is for two tickets. If a pair of seats isn’t available, some guests will be offered two tickets for separate seats.

Additionally, applications are limited to one per household, and guests can’t specify which day or match they would like to attend.

How else can I get Wimbledon 2025 tickets?

Applicants reportedly have a one in 10 chance of succeeding in the ballot. But that isn’t the only way to obtain tickets to one of tennis’s biggest tournaments.

A limited number of Show Court or Grounds tickets are sold each day. But those hoping to buy them will have to join the Queue.

Beginning the evening before a match and often even busier in the morning, the Queue is one of the most famous ways to purchase Wimbledon tickets, but numbers are limited. Five hundred Centre Court tickets were sold daily via the Queue this year.

Additionally, hospitality packages are available to purchase from Keith Prowse. On top of a luxury dining experience at The Treehouse, guests are guaranteed courtside seats.

Prices begin at £1,075 (excluding VAT) per person.
