When does The Split season 3 start on BBC One and what we know about the new series

BBC drama The Split is returning for its third season this April. Series three of The Split is comprised of six 60 minute episodes.

The previous series of the drama averaged over six million viewers and more than 19 million streams. It became the third most-watched drama series on BBC iPlayer in 2020.

The Split is executive produced by Sister co-founder Jane Featherstone (Chernobyl, Landscapers, This Is Going To Hurt). It is written and was created by Abi Morgan (River, Suffragette, The Hour), Lucy Dyke (The Split, Black Mirror, Ripper Street) and Lucy Richer for the BBC.

The Split season three cast includes returning characters such as Nicola Walker (The Turn of Screw) and Stephen Mangan (Beyond The Pole). Others in season three also include Barry Atsma (Zurich), Annabel Scholey (Walking in Sunshine), Deborah Findlay (Romeo & Juliet), Fiona Button (The Importance of Being Earnest), Lara Pulver (A Patch of Fog), Chukwudi Iwuji (Guardians of The Galaxy) and Damien Molony (Tiger Raid).

When does The Split season 3 start?

The new season of BBC’s The Split will start to air on Monday, April 4 on BBC One. On top of this, all episodes of the series will be available to watch the same day on BBC iPlayer.

What do we know about the new series so far?

The Split season three is set in London’s high-end divorce circuit and season three is set to be the last. It will see divorce lawyer Hannah (Nicola Walker) confront personal matters of her very own marriage split.

Fans will see Hannah and Nathan (Stephen Mangan), once a solid couple, unravel as the duo try to come to a drama-free separation agreement. However, in the process, Hannah realises what she is about to lose and there is a shocking revelation that significantly raises the stakes.

The series is set to leave viewers wondering if a ‘good divorce’ is possible for Hannah and Nathan. They may be asked to decide whether the damage is too deep.
