When does the Scottish summer transfer window close: Date, time and is it different to England?

It's been another mega busy summer of transfer activity in Scotland as time continues to tick down towards the deadline.

The likes of Celtic and Rangers have had productive windows to date. Giovanni van Bronckhorst has brought in the likes of Tom Lawrence, Rabbi Matondo, Antonio Colak and Ben Davies to strengthen his pool. Meanwhile the Ibrox men have also banked big money from the sales of Joe Aribo to Southampton and Calvin Bassey to Ajax.

Across Glasgow, Ange Postecoglou and his Scottish champions have also been busy after turning Cameron Carter-Vickers and Jota's loan deals from last term into permanent stays. Alexandro Bernabei also arrived for a commanding fee with Benjamin Siegrist providing competition for Joe Hart in goal following his free transfer. Moritz Jenz has also made a quick impression with two goals in two games from centre-back after joining on loan with an option.

It's not just the Old Firm who have been adding and losing players with all clubs up and down the country working tirelessly around the clock while they can.

But when is the deadline for Scotland and how does it differ from England?

Here is all you need to know.

When does the transfer window close?

Clubs in Scotland have up until midnight [12am] on September 1 to complete deals.

With Premier Sports Cup action on August 31, the deadline has been moved back 24 hours.

Is it different to England?

Yes - the main difference is the time the window slams shut.

In England the window also closes on September 1 however, they stop trading at 11pm.

That's one full hour before Scottish clubs.

Can players sign out with the window?

Clubs are still able to sign players beyond the September 1 deadline if they are without a club.

Free agents are able to join up with new teams at any point if they have not been previously registered with a club this summer.
