When Does The 2025 World Darts Championship Final Start?

The 2025 World Darts Championship Final is here. 96 players set out on their journey last month, and now just two remain. Luke Littler and Michael van Gerwen are set to battle it out for the Sid Waddell Trophy tonight, but when exactly is the World Darts Championship Final set to start?

When Is The 2025 World Darts Championship Final?

If you haven’t been watching the darts day in, day out for the past three weeks, where have you been? 96 players set out on their journey at the 2025 World Darts Championship on 15th December, and now just two remain.

The 2025 World Darts Championship Final is here, the last match of the tournament taking place tonight on Friday, January 3.

The final of this year’s event sees two of the best players in world darts battle it out for supremacy on the famous Alexandra Palace stage.

Teenage sensation Luke Littler has made the final for a second successive year, and will be looking to go one better than last year where he was defeated by world number one Luke Humphries.

Standing in the way of ‘The Nuke’ is the three-time winner of the Sid Waddell Trophy – Michael van Gerwen. The Dutchman has looked back to near his best this tournament, and will have his sights firmly set on a fourth world title tonight.

Do not miss it as the final of the 2025 World Darts Championship takes place tonight!

When Will The World Darts Championship Final Start?

It’s been almost three weeks since the first dart was thrown at this year’s World Darts Championship. We have had drama, nine-darters, 170 checkouts and some quite remarkable tungsten tussles along the way.

Now the tournament has reached the final stage, the two remaining players will do battle on the Ally Pally stage tonight on Friday, January 3.

The match itself is set to begin at 8:00PM, with the programme and build-up starting on Sky Sports at around 7:30PM.

The match itself will be a best-of-13-sets game, with either Luke Littler or Michael van Gerwen lifting the coveted Sid Waddell Trophy later this evening. Whoever it will be remain to be seen, but it will be the player who reaches seven sets before their opponent.

Who Is In The WDC Final Tonight?

As previously mentioned, the 2025 World Darts Championship Final will be contested by three-time world champion Michael van Gerwen and 17-year-old darting sensation Luke Littler.

Both ‘MVG’ and ‘The Nuke’ won their respective semi-finals 6-1 last night, with the Dutchman beating Chris Dobey before Littler defeated Stephen Bunting.

Neither man has had an easy route to the final, with Littler having to overcome a few hairy moments along the way. He beat Ryan Meikle in Round 2, before defeating Ian White in Round 3. His toughest game came in the Last 16 against Ryan Joyce, before beating Nathan Aspinall in the quarter-final.

For van Gerwen, he hasn’t had it all his own way either by any stretch of the imagination. ‘Mighty Mike’ overcame James Hurrell in Round 2, before beating Brendan Dolan in Round 3 and Jeffrey de Graaf in the Last 16. He then defeated Callan Rydz in the quarter-final, before his win over Chris Dobey in the semis.

All of this drama has led us to the grand finale. Luke Littler vs Michael van Gerwen goes down tonight in the 2025 World Darts Championship Final! The match is set to begin at 8:00PM and will be a race to seven sets. Strap in folks, you’re in for a treat tonight!
