Reality TV fans rejoice – Love Island is back tonight.
Just six months after Ekin-Su CülcüloÄlu and Davide Sanclimenti were crowned winners, Love Island is back for a winter season.
This is the first season Maya Jama, 28, will host after Laura Whitmore, 37, left the series.
Teasing the upcoming season on Instagram, Jama said: “We’re ready, are you? It’s time to grab love by the horns.”
According to ITV, Love Island is the biggest show for people aged 16 to 34, and the last series amassed over 269 million streams.
It’s no surprise that excitement will be growing among young audiences. Find out below how and when to watch the new season and what we know so far.
When does winter Love Island start?
Gone are the days of waiting a full year for a new season: Love Island will return for another winter edition on Monday, January 16.
Where to watch Love Island
Love Island will air at 9pm on ITV2 and will be available to stream on ITVX. Episodes will also be available to watch at a later date on ITVX.
Where will the Love Island winter season take place?
The first winter season took place in South Africa in 2020, in which winning couple Paige Turley and Finn Tap found love.
The winter seasons were scrapped in 2021 and 2022 because of Covid but the series is finally returning for 2023. Singletons will be heading back to South Africa for the latest season.
Love Island contestants
The contestants for the winter season have yet to be announced but, with less than two weeks to go, we can expect more details soon.
This year, as part of the new duty of care measures, the Love Island contestants will not have active social media accounts while they’re on the show.
ITV said: “Participants will be asked to pause handles and accounts on their social media platforms for the duration of their time on the show. Islanders’ accounts will remain dormant while they are in the Villa so that nothing is published on their behalf.”
The Islanders will also receive guidance on “mutually respectful behaviour in relationships”.
