When does Fame in the Family start on Channel 4 and what is the show about?

A new dinner-time gameshow is about to begin on Channel 4, with a celebrity twist. Fame in the Family will see celebrities host an extraordinary dinner party in the name of solving a DNA mystery – which of their guests is a long-lost relation?

In the new show, four members of the public will join a celebrity for dinner and attempt to figure out who is related to them via a series of party games.

When dinner is over, anyone who can guess which of the guests have “Fame in the Family” will win a share of the prize money.

The first episode will see Craig Revel Horwood (of Strictly Come Dancing fame) joined by contestants Alex, Jilly, June and Dominic in a bid to discover which of them is his long-lost cousin.

Joel Golby of The Guardian is an early fan, describing it as the "perfect teatime TV" and going on to say "I can only hope for 500 more episodes of it. Judging by the amount of famous DNA sloshing around this island, that shouldn’t be too difficult to arrange."

What is Fame in the Family about?

The new show will see four contestants take part in three rounds of games, slowly learning more and more about the celebrity’s early childhood, life story and family history, allowing them to make a (somewhat) educated guess on who could be related to them at the end.

Whoever guesses correctly will win a share of the £1000 prize money.

When does Fame in the Family start on Channel 4?

The show begins tonight (14 March 2022) at 5.30 pm on Channel 4 – the perfect time slot for chilling out after work or sticking something entertaining on the telly while you’re preparing dinner. It will also be streamable on All 4.

The subsequent episodes will be each weeknight in the same timeslot. They will see other celebrities, including Shaun Ryder, Razor Ruddock, Rustie Lee, Kerry Katona, Toyah Wilcox, James Argent, Ann Widdicombe, Will Bailey, Christopher Biggins, and Martin Offiah, all take part during the fifteen-part first series.
