Garang Kuol has been included in Australia's squad to travel to the 2022 World Cup in Qatar after his recent breakthrough at Central Coast Mariners.
The 18-year-old, who will join Newcastle from the Mariners in January, made his international debut in a friendly against New Zealand in September.
Australia have been drawn into Group D with reigning champions France, Euro 2020 semi-finalists Denmark and Tunisia. If the Socceroos progress from their group then they will face either the winners or runners-up of Group C, which contains Argentina, Saudi Arabia, Mexico and Poland.
