When Diego Costa will make Chelsea return? Confirmed date and kick-off after Wolves transfer

He's back! Diego Costa returns to the Premier League to hopefully cause more havoc, score some wonderful goals and rile up Arsenal fans.

The now 33-year-old who helped transform Chelsea's misfiring attack in 2014 has signed for Wolves after leaving his last club, Atletico Mineiro, at the start of the year.

Chelsea fans will be hoping to welcome their beloved forward back to Stamford Bridge, and they will not have long to wait. Chelsea face Wolves after the international break on Saturday 8th of October with a 3 PM kick-off scheduled. Although, as we have seen already this term, those plans can be changed within short notice.

Costa scored 59 goals in 120 appearances for Chelsea across the three seasons he enjoyed before returning back to Atletico Madrid, the club the Blues bought him from for around £32m. His 20 league goals in his first and last season led Chelsea to two Premier League titles, with his last appearance in the top flight coming in May 2017 against Sunderland.

His consistent level of scoring for Chelsea is a strength the club have been struggling to replace since he departed in the summer of 2017 following a fallout with Antonio Conte.

"No matter how much I enjoyed playing in Madrid, I felt discouraged, but this motivated me. It lit that fire within me." Costa said on making his return to England with Wolves.
