When Chelsea will reach Graham Potter tipping point and Todd Boehly's transfer plan for leaders

Graham Potter and Chelsea find themselves under increasing pressure following defeat to Tottenham Hotspur. It was the Blues' first loss to their local rivals in the Premier League since 2018 and the first time Chelsea had even conceded at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

There will be no doubt plenty of honest conversations about the performance and the club's current form over the next week as Chelsea prepare to take on another Premier League rival in Leeds United.

Our Chelsea correspondents Adam Newson and Scott Trotter got into plenty of detail in discussing Thiago Silva's absence, the loss of leaders and the club's plan to fix that and of course, Graham Potter's position during the latest episode of the View from the Bridge podcast.

The Blues reporters reflected on the danger of apathy following the Spurs loss and deliberated at what point a decision will be required on Potter's status as head coach.

Adam said: "Chelsea are going to reach a crossroads and they will reach it after Dortmund I think. Because, for argument's sake Chelsea were to lose against Leeds and Dortmund, that is the season over effectively. You are in a very weird predicament; how do you handle the rest of the season? Do you let Potter continue and take it on and accept that the season is a complete write-off but Potter is going to be making decisions on players in the last two months? Who he wants to go forward with, who he doesn't think is going to fit his tactical system long-term and who has a future at the club. He doesn't make that complete decision but he is a big say in it.

"Or do you decide this clearly has not worked out, we have to take this decision now, let's get another head coach in, give them two months to work with the squad, to identify players they want to work with and can take forward and fit their system. Then you go into pre-season and there's a lot less work to do for the new head coach because they've already had time. They don't have to go into pre-season with 30 players and work out who they want to progress with. Then you can attack pre-season in a more professional way than Chelsea's last pre-season.

"That's probably the difficult reality Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali face. They have commendably stuck with Potter so far and maybe they had to give the decision they made to sack Tuchel and bring him in. Their credibility would suffer if they were to then sack him. I think that's a tipping point, we'll see how the next two games go. From a purely unemotional point of view, you have to look at what is going to be better for Chelsea, not even this season but next season."

The duo got into that and delved into Declan Rice and what the atmosphere may be like at Stamford Bridge this weekend for the visit of Leeds. You can listen to the rest of the discussions between Adam and Scott right here.
