One of UK’s biggest nights in music, the Brit Awards, will see the world’s most celebrated and loved musicians come together for a night of glitz and glamour.
This year, the music awards are set to see some major changes including a brand new host, as well as the gendered awards being replaced for more inclusivity.
It means that Male and Female solo categories have been dropped and replaced by new awards for Artist of the Year and International Artist of the Year.
Nominations for 13 award categories were announced during an hour-long special titled The Brits Are Coming that aired on ITV.
When are the Brit Awards 2022 - how to watch
The Brit Awards will take place on Tuesday February 8 at The O2 Arena in London. You can catch the awards live on ITV, and they will also be available on ITV Hub for those who miss it.
For the first time, the show will also live stream on the Official Brit Awards YouTube channel for UK and international viewers. People can also tune into The Brit Awards Red Carpet on ITV2 from 7pm-8pm.
Who is hosting the Brit Awards 2022?
Comedian Mo Gilligan is taking over from long-running host Jack Whitehall, who is stepping down after presenting the awards for the last four years.
Gilligan makes history as the first Black British host.
On hosting the event, The Masked Singer panellist said: "It’s an absolute privilege to host the 2022 Brit Awards. I’m truly honoured to be asked. We’re already in the extensive planning stages and all I can say is, I promise we’re going to give it all we’ve got to create an incredible night for music fans everywhere. Let’s go!"
Guest presenters Clara Amfo and Maya Jama are also set to host the red carpet event on the night.
Who is performing at the Brits 2022?
Acts performing at the Brits 2022 include Ed Sheeran, Sam Fender, Dave, Liam Gallagher, Little Simz, as well as Anne-Marie and KSI with Digital Farm Animals. Also performing is Holly Humberstone, the recipient of the Rising Star Award this year.
Adele, who recently had to cancel her Las Vegas residency, also confirmed she would be taking to the Brits stage. She posted: "Hiya, so I’m really happy to say that I am performing at the Brits next week!!"
Meanwhile, Doja Cat who was meant to have a set on the night announced she was pulling out of her performance.
Who are the Brits 2022 nominees?
Adele, Ed Sheeran, Little Simz and Dave have the highest number of nominations this year — each up for four awards.
Sam Fender, Central Cee and David Guetta are close behind with three nominations each.
Doja Cat, Olivia Rodrigo, Billie Eilish and Lil Nas X are up for two awards, and are all set to battle it out against Taylor Swift for the international artist of the year award.
Sir Elton John also received his first Brit nomination in 20 years, for his collaboration with Dua Lipa. Other acts who have been nominated are Joy Crookes, Coldplay, Little Mix and KSI.
