Key dates for the 2025/26 Scottish Premiership season revealed

The current campaign may still be drawing to a conclusion, but the countdown to the 2025/26 Scottish Premiership season is officially underway, with next term’s fixtures set to be released on Friday, June 20.

Fans across the country will mark their calendars for the big reveal, which will outline the full schedule for the top-flight campaign – including the opening weekend, key derbies such as the Old Firm, and the crucial run-in.

The new Premiership season will kick off over the weekend of August 1-3, as clubs return to action following the summer break.

With title ambitions, European hopes and relegation battles all set to unfold over the coming months, excitement is already beginning to build.

The campaign will run through to May 16/17, when the final round of Premiership fixtures will be played.

The season will culminate in the always-dramatic play-off final, scheduled across two legs on Thursday, May 21 and Sunday, May 24, offering Championship hopefuls a shot at promotion to the top tier.

It’s not just the Premiership getting underway that weekend. The SPFL has confirmed that Championship, League One and League Two fixtures will also be unveiled on June 20, with all three divisions starting on the same opening weekend in August.
