When Alexis Mac Allister could make his Liverpool debut after completing transfer

Alexis Mac Allister has become Jurgen Klopp's first summer signing having has put pen to paper on a five-year contract at Liverpool.

The Reds have struck a deal with the Seagulls, having triggered the player's release clause, and the fee is believed to between the £35million and £45million mark. It's a transfer which represents a smart piece of business for Liverpool, who will soon welcome the World Cup winner into their squad.

When, though, can supporters expect to see the Argentine in action for his new employers? Determining exactly when the 24-year-old will earn his first outing in Liverpool colours remains to be seen, though opportunities will soon be on the horizon for Mac Allister to showcase his talent for all to see.

The middle of July will be the earliest date for fans to see the new No.10 lining up in a Klopp side, though the chance to catch a glimpse of Mac Allister starring for his country will arrive next week. Argentina are taking on Australia on Thursday, June 15 - in a repeat of the 2022 World Cup round-of-16 tie - which will commence at 1pm BST. La Albiceleste will then face off against Indonesia four days later on Monday, June 19 at 1.30pm BST.

Mac Allister's maiden outing for Liverpool could be forthcoming on July 19, when the Reds partake in their opening friendly against German second-tier side Karlsruher. Failing that, there will then be chances for the midfielder to earn match minutes versus Greuther Fürth (July 24), Leicester City (July 30) or Bayern Munich (August 2).

There is then the possibility of the Reds staging a final pre-season fixture at Preston North End's Deepdale home on August 7, with the Daily Mail last week suggesting this request has been sent to the Championship club. The reason for this taking place at Preston relates to the ongoing work at Anfield to complete work on the revamped Anfield Road stand, which has also resulted in Liverpool asking the Premier League to play their first match of the 2023/24 campaign away from home.

Mac Allister will therefore have to wait until at least the third weekend in August to make his Anfield bow. His first opponent as a Liverpool player will become clear on Thursday, June 15 when the Premier League announce the full schedule for the season.
