WhatsApp hack that everyone needs to know to avoid 'public embarrassment'

This is the WhatsApp hack that everyone need to know if you want to avoid public embarrassment.

Listening to WhatsApp voice-notes in public can be an embarrassing task, with many people preferring to avoid sending or receiving them as they can't listen to them until they're somewhere private. For most people, playing voice-notes in public and holding the bottom of your phone, where the speaker is, up to your ear to listen is the ultimate public faux pas.

This hack avoid the issue, as you can actually hold your phone to your ear as you normally would during a phone call to listen to voice-notes as well. One woman has gone viral on Instagram explaining the hack.

In her video, Aisling Keenan (@aislingmkeenan) said: "I thought that everybody knew this WhatsApp feature but apparently they didn't, so listen up, because I want to save you some public embarrassment. You know when you get a WhatsApp voice-note and you see someone walking down the road with their phone held up to their ear so they can hear what's been said out the bottom of their phone from the speaker?

"You don't have to do that! Have you ever experienced when you play a WhatsApp voice-note, not up to your ear, and it's playing out loud, and your phone moves and all of a sudden it goes quiet and you're not really sure why? That's because when WhatsApp is open on your phone, it senses the weight distribution of your phone in your hand, and when it feels it move it thinks what you've done is put it up to your ear to listen.

"So, next time you get a WhatsApp voice-note that you don't want to listen to out loud in public, you don't have to put it up to your ear, you can just turn your phone up to your ear as if you're listening to a phone call. So you press play, and you put your phone to your ear, and it will play through the ear piece."

People in the comments were blown away by the hack. One person said: "Literally just trued it. It works. Game. Changer!!!" and another said: "Mind blown". However, some claimed they already knew about the hack, as one person said: "I don't understand how so many people don't know this" and another said: "Can't cope presumed people knew this !! It's the bomb".
