WhatsApp appears to be working again after facing an issue on Tuesday (October 25) morning, which left users unable to send or receive messages.
During the outage, messages could be typed on the app but a problem occurred when messages were sent, as they didn’t deliver.
Outage detection website DownDetector confirmed that WhatsApp was not working for thousands of users, with the first reports being filed at 7.54 am today.
DownDetector received around 70,000 reports that WhatsApp wasn’t working, with 54 per cent of users reporting a problem with sending messages, while 40 per cent claimed there was an issue with the server connection.
WhatsApp has yet to share an official statement on the same, but we should have more information soon.
Many WhatsApp users took to Twitter to complain about the problem.
One person tweeted: “People coming to Twitter to see if WhatsApp is down #WhatsappDown”
