Chelsea have emerged as frontrunners to sign Borussia Dortmund talent Youssoufa Moukoko. The 18-year-old striker will be a free agent at the end of the season as he enters the final six months of his current deal in January.
Todd Boehly is set to back Potter in the January transfer window with new signings after spending close to £300million over the summer. The American owner was spotted in dialogue with the Blues boss and Behdad Eghbali after the 1-0 defeat against Villa in Abu Dhabi, potentially discussing transfer plans.
Boehly has shown that he is keen to sign talented youngsters to protect Chelsea's long-term future success. Moukoko is tipped to be one of the most promising strikers in Europe and has already registered 12 goal contributions in 12 starts for Dortmund so far this term.

Chelsea are exploring the possibility of bringing Borussia Dortmund talent Moukoko to Stamford Bridge, according to The Athletic. Moukoko became the youngest player to represent Germany at a World Cup after coming on as a substitute in the 2-1 defeat by Japan in their opening group game.
In an interview last month with German press, when asked about his future, Moukoko said: "I feel very comfortable in Dortmund, I feel the confidence of the coach. You'll find out in the end whether I decide to stay or not."
The 18-year-old will be available for a cut-price fee due to his contract expiring at the end of the season, meaning the Blues could look to secure a deal in January or the summer. Liverpool and Manchester United are also keen on signing the highly rated youngster, but his comments suggest he is not ruling out the option of extending his current deal with Dortmund.
