As Ireland recovers from Storm Dudley, Storm Eunice is brewing.
Since 2014, the Met offices of both the UK and Ireland have been working together on the storm names partnership to help raise awareness of the potential impacts of severe weather.
Every year, each weather service contribute names "reflective of their nation and culture", mainly suggested by members of the public.
Back in September, the names for the 2021/22 season were revealed.
They are:
Arwen - happened November 2021.
Barra; - happened December 2021
Corrie - happened January 2022, but avoided Ireland
Dudley; - happened February 2022
Eunice - happens on Friday
The next few to be named will arrive later in the year.
They are:

Gladys;
Herman;
Imani;
Jack;
Kim;
Logan;
Méabh;
Nasim;
Olwen;
Pól;
Ruby;
Seán;
Tineke;
Vergil;
Willemien
Evelyn Cusack, Head of Forecasting at Met Eireann, said at the time: “Last winter was relatively quiet with only one storm named by Met Eireann, Storm Aiden at Halloween.
“Once again Met Eireann will continue to work with our national weather service colleagues in the UK and Netherlands, by continuing to provide a clear and consistent message to the public and encouraging people to take action to prevent harm to themselves or to their properties at times of severe weather.”
