Everton have sacked manager Frank Lampard less than 48 hours after their defeat to West Ham United.
Ahead of the London Stadium clash between the two sides, both managers were under serious pressure, with the tie being labelled as one where the loser was likely to get sacked. Although the club are yet to confirm Lampard's exit, it has been widely reported that he was sacked on Monday afternoon.
West Ham went into that game 18th in the table, only ahead of 19th-placed Everton by a single goal on goal difference.

Ahead of that game, it was widely-billed that the loser would likely get sacked, which has now proved to be true. Everton have relieved Lampard of his duties after just 44 games in charge, less than 48 hours after Jarrod Bowen’s first half double sealed the Hammers’ first league win in eight matches.
After the game, Moyes was asked about Lampard’s future. The Scotsman said that he had hoped that his former club would not part ways with Lampard.
“I really hope Everton stick with Frank,” said Moyes in his post-match press conference.
“I think he is a top bloke from our conversations and the times I've been with him and I hope that Everton find a way out of the situation."
Of Lampard’s 44 games at Everton, just 12 ended in victory, including their 1-0 win over West Ham at Goodison Park in September.
