Almost three decades after the release of the original Jurassic Park, the sixth instalment is hitting cinemas. Ahead of its June 10 release date, Universal has dropped the trailer for Jurassic World: Dominion.
Set around four years after Fallen Kingdom, Dominion is the “epic conclusion” to the epic Jurassic Park franchise, and the third in the Jurassic World trilogy. Fans have been waiting a long time for this: the original release date was meant to be in June 2021.
This second trailer gives a little more than the teaser did back in February, giving us a glimpse of our OG heroes back in action, including the loveable, snarky Jeff Goldblum as talented mathematician Dr Ian Malcolm. With a $165 million budget, this is set to be a huge summer blockbuster that wraps up the long saga – but what has the trailer showed us so far?

What have we learnt from the new Jurassic World: Dominion trailer?
As mentioned, Dominion is set around four years after Fallen Kingdom, which ended on a cliffhanger as dinosaurs escaped into our world. Now in the present day, humans are failing to peacefully coexist with dinosaurs, a clash that is entirely unsurprising.
The trailer catches up with wannabe dinosaur tamer Owen Grady, played by Chris Pratt (Parks & Recreation and Guardians of the Galaxy), in the forest where he lives. The peace is soon disturbed when he learns that Blue the raptor has had a baby.
The baby raptor is snapped up by some shady poachers, sending Grady off on a rescue mission. At the same time, we see that everything is kind of crumbling.
The trailer doesn't give much away, we just know that former park operations manager Claire Dearing (Bryce Dallas Howard, The Help) is back on the scene, and the OGs are called on to help. There's professor of palaeontology Alan Grant (Sam Neil), Dr. Ellie Sattler (Laura Dern), Dr Malcolm (Goldblum), while Isabella Sermon is returning as genetically created Maisie Lockwood.
Director Colin Trevorrow has confirmed that the threequel takes places outside of the US, and we'll see dinosaurs roaming through wilderness, cities, desert and snow. There's also a new, scary dinosaur for the humans to contend with: the brutal Atrociraptor.
In the trailer, we see one in hot pursuit of Pratt, trying to escape on his motorbike. One launches itself on Pratt, but we don't see what happens. Trevorrow is reviving an OG villain for Dominion: Lewis Dodgson, the mysterious man who gave Dennis Nedry (Wayne Knight) some dinosaur embryos - Campbell Scott is taking on that role.

What has Jeff Goldblum said about the new movie?
Much-loved Jeff Goldblum was a fan favourite when he appeared in the original movie. He's been loyal to the franchise ever since, and that hasn't waned for the concluding film.
Speaking at CinemaCon this year, Jeff Goldblum and Bryce Dallas Howard said they are “infinitely grateful” for the franchise and shared their initial takes on the film. He's already been to see it on the big screen, and plans to go again with his kids.
Goldblum loves the cinema, calling it the most “romantic” and “magical” experience. To him, it seems like Dominion is no exception, as he showed genuine enthusiasm for its big screen debut.
