Anthony Edwards has been cited with third-degree assault following the Minnesota Timberwolves’ Game 5 loss against the Denver Nuggets.
Edwards made a rapid departure from the court Tuesday night following his failed season-saving three-pointer, but not before allegedly hitting two women employees with a folding chair he swung in frustration as he headed toward the Timberwolves’ locker room.

What was Anthony Edwards cited for?
Denver police cited Edwards with two misdemeanor counts of third-degree assault for “knowingly or recklessly” causing bodily harm after the chair allegedly hit two women. DPD reported that the injuries were not serious.
What was the Timberwolves' response?
The Timberwolves released a short statement Wednesday:
“We are aware of the alleged incident regarding Anthony Edwards following Game 5 in Denver and are in the process of gathering more information. We have no further comment at this moment.”
