What Wales need to qualify for World Cup 2022 last 16 tonight

Wales' World Cup campaign has not gone as planned so far but their hopes of tonight reaching the knockout stages remain alive.

A valiant second-half performance to draw with the United States in their first Group B game raised spirits but a late defeat to Iran, along with a red card for goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey, has them rooted to the bottom of the group.

It's an all-British affair in their final group game with England the opponents, themselves still to confirm their last-16 spot.

England are currently top of the group on four points, followed by Iran in second on three points. USA are third on two points and Wales prop up the group on one point.

So, what do Wales need against England? We lay it all out.

Wales lose to England

They will finish bottom of Group B and head home hugely disappointed.

Wales draw with England

Still not enough, though may leapfrog USA into third spot depending on their result against Iran.

Wales beat England

Wales’ first target is to beat England. Anything less, and it’s curtains. But, having beaten England, they also need Iran and USA draw in the other Group B decider.
