What does Wales' loss to Poland mean for the Nations League?

It means they have been relegated from League A. They will be in League B for the next edition of the tournament, which takes place in 2024 and 2025. Once again, they will be drawn into a four-team group, playing each team at home and away, meaning they will have a total of six fixtures.

The teams guaranteed to be in League B next time out are as follows: Austria, England, Wales, Iceland, Albania, Georgia, Greece, Kazakhstan, Montenegro, Turkey.

The following are still to be decided: Switzerland or Czech Republic, Scotland or Ukraine, Republic of Ireland or Armenia, Norway or Serbia, Finland or Romania, Slovenia or Sweden.

The team finishing first in each of the four League B groups will be promoted into League A for the 2026/27 edition of the tournament.

What about Euro 2024 qualifying?

Wales are guaranteed to be in pot two for the Euro 2024 qualifying draw. They will face one team - both home and away - from either five or six of post one to six, depending on if they fall into a five or a six-team group.
