Virgil van Dijk was involved in the bust-up between the Netherlands and Argentina players during their feisty World Cup quarter-final clash.
Argentine midfielder Leandro Paredes was shown a yellow card for a nasty challenge on Nathan Ake before he hammered the ball at the Dutch bench.
That sparked a mass brawl as both sets of players clashed, with referee Antonio Miguel Mateu Lahoz struggling to keep the peace.

Netherlands captain Van Dijk in particular didn't take too kindly to the Paris Saint-Germain midfielder's show of disrespect as he barged into Paredes to send him flying to the floor.
The Dutch bench charged on to the field at the Lusail Stadium in Qatar to confront the PSG midfielder before Liverpool's number four got to him.
Van Dijk was shown a yellow card for defending his team-mates after Paredes' poor display of discipline.
Argentina were leading the match 2-0, but former Burnley striker Wout Weghorst came off the bench to score twice late on to send the game to extra-time.
Both teams clashed again at full-time, with tempers flaring throughout a feisty quarter-final, and Van Dijk continuing to remonstrate with the referee.
