What Villarreal fans have planned ahead of Champions League semi-final with Liverpool

Villarreal have announced plans for a mosaic involving home supporters inside the ground for tomorrow's Champions League semi-final second leg with Liverpool.

Unai Emery's side have it all to do at the Estadio de la Ceramica on Tuesday evening, having suffered a 2-0 defeat at Anfield last week. It goes without saying that the Reds are now expected to reach the final of the competition, though their Spanish opponents will be pulling out all the stops to make it an uncomfortable environment.

Fans will gather close to two hours before kick-off to welcome the team bus, following its path from the club's training ground to the stadium. Villarreal's academy players will also show their support for the first-team before the bus heads to the ground, providing a guard of honour to recognise the achievement of reaching this stage of the Champions League.

Things will then be cranked up a notch as kick-off approaches, with Villarreal's club website confirming an 'impressive tifo' has been arranged and will be the first of its kind to occupy the whole stadium.

The North Stand will see supporters generate an image of the words 'CVF', an abbreviation of 'Villarreal Club de Futbol', which features on the club crest. The South Stand will depict a submarine - in honour of the club's Yellow Submarine nickname - while the Grand Stand will show the word 'Endavant', which translates into English as 'keep moving forward'.

Supporters will be told to stand up and raise their piece of card as the Villarreal squad are leaving the players' tunnel. Instructions have been given for fans to perform this action while the Champions League anthem is sung, as well as for the home side's anthem.
