What TV cameras caught Sir Alex Ferguson doing at Anfield as Liverpool destroy Man United

Sir Alex Ferguson was at Anfield to witness Liverpool humiliate bitter rivals Manchester United in the Premier League on Sunday evening.

The former United boss was sat in the comfort of the Main Stand for the big match. But there was nothing comfortable about the performance of his beloved Red Devils as they were thumped 7-0 by Jurgen Klopp's side.

Erik ten Hag's team came into the game fancied by many to take all three points at Anfield. But two goals from Cody Gakpo, Darwin Nunez and Mohamed Salah were met with a finish from Roberto Firmino off the bench as Liverpool ran riot.

And during the demolition, the Sky Sports camera panned to Ferguson in the stands. He was was seen shaking his head at the debacle he was watching out on the pitch.

Liverpool's 7-0 win is the record scoreline in a match between these two great rivals. It also means the Reds closed the gap to Tottenham Hotspur in fourth place to just three points with a game in hand.

Next up for Liverpool is a trip to relegation-threatened Bournemouth next weekend.
