Tottenham Hotspur boss Ange Postecoglou reportedly wants a rising winger to provide a jolt to his major rebuild in North London.
The former Celtic manager is down to business and a versatile forward option who thrives in wide areas is believed to sit atop his wishlist ahead of his debut season in the Premier League. Football London also state Leicester City pair Harvey Barnes and James Maddison are of strong interest, too, as the 57-year-old aims to get Spurs rocking from the off.
And it's not merely a case of new faces who could figure in his Tottenham rejuvenation project. It's believed forgotten man Tanguy Ndombele could be handed a chance to prove his worth. The club's record signing has been an ill-fit since his £63million transfer from Lyon in 2019, however, Postecoglou will monitor him during pre-season with two years remaining on his current contract.
Postecoglou approved of the £25.6m permanent capture of Dejan Kulusevski from Juventus and now the Sweden international is set to offer both the attacking verve couple with the defensive sensibility which the former Parkhead boss craves from his wingers. And there is likely to be a youth movement in N17 with academy strikers Troy Parrott and Dane Scarlett set to head out on the club's tour of Australia.
But it's likely both Gio Lo Celso and Harry Winks are facing the Spurs end game with both entering the final 12 months of their contracts after loans away from the London club. Postecoglou will make a call on Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg with the tough-tackling Dane viewed by some as unsuitable for Angeball. Celtic fans can breathe easier as, despite links with Reo Hatate, it appears no imminent offers are incoming to his former club.
