What Tottenham fan who kicked Aaron Ramsdale at Arsenal North London Derby did to avoid stewards

Arsenal's 2022/23 campaign has gone from strength to strength in recent times, with their most recent outing coming against local rivals Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday afternoon.

The Gunners secured a 2-0 victory thanks to a Hugo Lloris own goal and a powerful Martin Odegaard strike, giving their first Premier League away win over their fierce rivals since 2014. However, the end of the match was shrouded in controversy when a Spurs spectator kicked out at Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale.

Following an exchange of words between Ramsdale and Tottenham attacker Richarlison, the 24-year-old headed towards his goal to collect his water bottle before the fan launched the attack.

Speaking about the incident right after the full-time whistle, the England international said: "The Spurs fans were giving me some throughout the second half and I gave them some back which, to the few people that I did do it too, was well greeted.

"Then a fan tried to jump over and give me a punch [kick] in the back. That's what happened and it's a shame because it's just a game of football at the end of the day." Now, new footage has emerged that shows how the fan escaped stewards within the stadium.

Following the kick, the supporter quickly makes his way up the stand, running up the steps before coming to a section with two other fans, who appear to know who he is, standing in front of him as he sits down. He then removes his scarf, appearing to be out of breath as the camera gets a clear image of his face.

Eventually, he leaves the ground, walking up the stairs after removing his coat as well. The FA has condemned the incident in a statement, which reads: "We strongly condemn the incident involving a spectator that followed today's Premier League fixture between Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal.

"This is wholly unacceptable behaviour and we will work together with the police, the relevant authorities and the clubs to ensure the appropriate action is taken."
