What Tottenham ace Ivan Perisic told Antonio Conte and Fabio Paratici as he makes Arsenal claim

New Tottenham signing Ivan Perisic has revealed that he immediately made it clear to Antonio Conte and Fabio Paratici that he wanted to seal a move to the Premier League. Linked with a move to England's top flight in the past, the Croatia international will pull on a Spurs shirt in 2022/23 after signing a two-year deal in north London.

Making a big name for himself at the San Siro with Inter, Perisic will add some much-needed experience to the Tottenham squad and also give Conte an upgrade at left wing-back. Speaking after his move to Spurs was finally confirmed, Perisic has stated that he has wanted to play in the Premier League since 2009.

"I'm really excited to start with the Spurs family. It's going to be my home for the next two years," the new signing admitted to Spurs TV. "When I got in contact with the coach and the sporting director [Paratici], I told them that I really wanted to come here in the Premier League, since 2009 when I started to play professional football in Belgium. This is the moment and I can't wait."

With a move to Tottenham in the pipeline due to his Inter Milan contract running down, Perisic took a closer look at his new teammates by watching Spurs' final few games of the season. Watching on as Tottenham beat Arsenal 3-0 at the start of the month, the 33-year-old knew Spurs would be playing Champions League football in 2022/23 after the big win over their local rivals.

"Yeah I was waiting last two or three games, I was watching," he admitted. "After the victory against Arsenal, it was obvious that Tottenham will go in the Champions League. It was also good for me because I want to play the best game, I want to do great job in the Champions League, like in the Premier League."

So what exactly will the new man bring to Tottenham over the next few years?

"I'm going to bring a lot of hard work because I like to work a lot, I like to work for the team and because only like this you can win something important," he explained. "I can play several positions in the system what Tottenham is playing now and I will bring also a lot of experience because I used to play for a lot of great clubs. Like I said, I can't wait to start to play and to train and to give my best."
