What to wear and what not to wear in monsoon

For most of us, the advent of monsoon is a pleasant incident. Monsoon gives us a chance to do several beautiful things, including a break from the oppressive heat of May and June, the opportunity to sit outside on the balcony without getting barbecued, the sweet fragrance of damp ground, eating pakoras and taking in the breeze

from our balconies while sipping hot chai. Although it sounds enjoyable, this season is not the most pragmatic for those who celebrate fashion for obvious reasons. The situation for fashion enthusiasts is nearly sympathetic: the air is humid, the clothes get soaked from the continual rain, and the mood is always depressing.

Here is a list of some monsoon-appropriate clothing you can wear during this erratic wet season.

Wear knee-length clothes

How often have you strolled onto the streets after a rainstorm and expertly escaped all the puddles only to find that your pants had ugly mud and water stains on the legs? The greatest option for preventing this unfortunate incident

and looking super duper cool is to wear clothing that ends at or above your knees. Consider fitted midi dresses, skater skirts, or high-waisted shorts. It's best to choose cropped pants that end somewhere about your calf if you wish to wear pants.

Indian attires

Avoid wearing salwar and patialas during the monsoon season if you like a more traditional Indian look; instead, choose a pair of short Kurtis with leggings or churidars. The cumbersome long dupattas that are problematic in the weather can be swapped out for scarves or stoles. Avoid designs and fabrics that have a tendency to perspire when wet.

Shrugs

Shrugs are also undeniably perfect during the monsoon. Especially if you can't help but keep donning white and light-coloured t-shirts, by layering on attractive patterned shrugs, you may wear any shirt. They appear quite stylish and hip. In this season, kimonos and kaftan shrugs do particularly well.

Swap your jeans for culottes

Since jeans take so long to dry during the rain, you can't really rely on them anymore. Therefore, it is advised to switch to culottes, palazzos, or any wide- hemmed bottoms in the monsoon to maintain your freedom of movement.

However, culottes are much more fashionable than jeans and will unquestionably remain in style throughout the year.

Opt for comfy footwear

Along with the proper attire, you should wear shoes that are safe and comfortable in the rain. Stilettos and heels should be avoided, as should any closed shoes. Wearing velvet or leather shoes is also not a good idea. Rubber-

soled and brilliant colour flip-flops are also suitable alternatives for monsoon. Wear waterproof socks to protect your feet from bacteria and to keep them dry.

While these are just a few suggestions for the monsoon-appropriate outfit, there are many additional considerations you should keep in mind if you want to nail the look: accessorise tastefully, carry a small waterproof bag, and a floral

umbrella would also be extremely stylish. All you need to remember is to make sure you are comfortable in whatever you choose to wear. The essential thing is to remember to return to your origins and take pleasure in the rain as a child. Dance in the rain, laugh heartily and remain joyful. Keep your inner child alive. Happy Monsoon!
